Meet Our Team

About Us

Achnabreac Kennels is owned by husband and wife George and Louise Casey. It took five long years from the idea conception to the reality. Under the direction of Argyll and Bute Council's Planning and Environmental Health Departments, with the help and building expertise of M&K MacLeod and with immense local support we finally opened in June 2007 and have indeed just recently completed our first year.

We are a new and modern business with traditional values; we believe that delivery and flexibility of service is imperative; we advocate genuine, sensible care of dogs and deem that in keeping to these values, we here at Achnabreac Kennels offer excellence as standard.

Areas of Expertise: Dog Obedience Training

Since the conception of his idea to open a boarding kennel in Mid Argyll, George has worked tirelessly with dogged determination for 5 years to ensure its reality, bringing a much needed and long overdue facility to Mid Argyll’s dog owners.

He has been involved with training dogs both working and companion for over 30 years and due to the need for trained working dogs himself, is all too aware of the challenges, frustrations and rewards that come with training dogs and so has agreed to provide one to one training for anyone needing practical help or advice.

As joint managing owner of Achnabreac Kennels, George spends most of the free time he has helping with general running duties, maintenance and development of the business.

Louise

Area of Expertise: Kennel Manager and Administrator

Louise has been a dog owner and animal lover all her life. She has bred Labradors and Collies over a 20 year period and has dreamt of working / owning a dog kennel since childhood. A career of marketing and management has put Louise in a good position to ensure the co-ordination and efficiency of the Kennel administration. With a ‘hands on’ approach to the daily routine, Louise is familiar with all aspects of the business and heads the Achnabreac Team into providing and delivering competent and professional services.

The re-homing of stray and unwanted dogs has become a passion and Louise together with the help of other team members has created an extensive data base which allows these dogs to be matched and introduced to new secure homes, thus preventing Argyll strays being removed to dog homes out with the area.
